I have needed to remodel my room for a long time. The Toy Story clouds on the ceiling and my name painted in zebra print bubble letters on the wall just wasn’t quite current to my mature, intellectual vibe. So, over quarantine, during the summer before my last year in the house, I finally got around to remodeling. I put a lot of pressure on each design decision. I told myself that this was not a simple redecorating project, but it was the start of my transition into the independence of college. Furthermore, this room would be the stage upon which I decided my future and soaked up as much of my senior year as physically possible. After I thought, clearly, much too hard about paint colors and general aesthetics, I settled on a theme. Growth. I wanted the idea of steady improvement to permeate my senior year and usher me into my first few years of college. So, since this Portfolio is supposed to be me in a presentation, I wanted the same theme. Each project is titled in the Latin translation in italics (like a scientific name for a plant) and the English translation in parenthesis. Each project has been viewed as both an opportunity for growth and a showcase of who I am. Please enjoy each long-winded, over-analytical, thoughtful, and hopefully compelling look into myself and my writing.
